The Dublin Bay 15k Coastal Hike on Sunday Morning is solo friendly and great for those who want to keep fit , make new friends and learn about Dublin . It is also a great taster if you fancy The Camino De Santiago in the future.
Join “Irish Walking ” at the GPO in Dublin’s O’Connell St . Walk through some of the more interesting areas of Dublin off the normal tourist trail .
Walk through Dublin Docks across the Liffey at the 02 Arena , across the East Link Bridge and past the Aviva Stadium .Pass through Ringsend, Sandymount, Booterstown, Blackrock, Monkstown to Dun Laoghaire.
In Dun Laoghaire you can have a coffee at one of the many restaurants, enjoy a glass of wine ” in “The Forty Foot” , walk the pier or have an ice cream in Scrumdiddlys or Teddy’s.
If you need to pamper yourself have lunch at the wonderful food stalls , have a second glass of wine , go to the cinema , take a boat trip along the coast or visit Bloomfield’s or Dun Laoghaire Shopping Centre or the Open Air Market on a Sunday
To earn this treat we walk roads, beach and park walking along the coast, moving at a reasonable pace but if you start to tire we can slow down There are few distractions till we stop for a coffee in Sandymount or Booterstown .
You will need a reasonable level of fitness, good footwear and a sense of humour.
Don’t worry there are loads of toilets on the way . Passports are not necessary just a little patience if some are a little slow. This is not a race if you want a sweaty workout at speed forget it, stay in bed. If you are worried about the rain stay in bed as well .
It’s a great way to make new friends on your Irish Holiday or practice for The Camino . Solo Travellers are especially welcome but everyone must be over 18 and reasonably fit.

Dun Laoghaire is well served by Dart or Bus with connections to all parts of Dublin North and South. We finish between 1 and 2 at the Railway/Dart Station which takes you back into Dublin City Centre
